I am pretty new to blogging and so when i recently tried to automatically install a plugin on my blog and it would not, i was frustrated. In fact i was more than frustrated. I was angry. Angry that what i thought would be a quick fix turned out to last for hours ruining my whole schedule and leaving me running late on all my appointments and tasks for the day.

Fortunately enough, i asked this in the Wealthy Affiliate forum and just a day later, i had the whole issue resolved. This made me wonder just how many people struggle with blogging. We have all heard how blogging is the easiest way to make money online. However, what the experts forget to tell most people is that though you can make a lot of money blogging, you do require the necessary the knowledge on how to develop your blog, monetize it and most important how to send traffic to your blog.

Without this fundamental knowledge, i have to say that Blogging can turn out to be the most frustrating thing ever.So in light of this, i want to share your with you a little trick that i learned on how you can manually install a plugin if the auto method fails.

There is a manual install for WP plugins.

You need to save the plugin to your desktop, then unzip it (most are in a win-zip type of file)

When you unzip it it should create a folder with files for your plugin inside the folder. Do not rename or move anything.

Use a FTP program or your host’s ftp file manager to connect with the folder your WP site is installed in.

You should see a folder wp-content

Inside wp-content is another folder for plugins, open that folder.

You should see folders within the plugin folder for all plugins you have installed.

You want to upload the folder with all the contents that was created when you unzipped it into that Plugins folder.

/wp-content/plugins/your new plugin folder

Then when you log back into your admin control of your WP site it should show as a plugin, just activate it.

Hope this was helpful.

Here’s to your success!

What connects us to our favorite television show or novel characters? When you get through a book or have been watching a show for several seasons, you feel as though you’re a friend to the characters. Their experiences and how those experiences relate to us in some way, shape, or form, allow us to trust the characters, empathize with them, and feel a connection with them that resembles a friendship.

Don’t you want your blog readership to have this same connection with you? The key to creating this relationship is to be personable.

Here are four ways to be personable on your blog:

Share Your Experiences: When someone is convinced that their goal or dream is impossible, it will be impossible for them to achieve. But, if you can illustrate, through your own personal story, that you achieved something you once thought was impossible, your readers will find a deep connection to your story and will be much more inclined to tune into your blog posts every day for proven tips.

Don’t Put Yourself on a Pedestal: When you’re too “big” for your readership, there is no way they can feel a personal connection to you. And when I say “big,” I don’t mean popular—I mean egotistical and weakness-free. When you seem larger than life to your readers, they will get the sense that they cannot attain what you have. Therefore, your tips and advice will have no resonance with them.

Always speak to your audience on the same level, and allow them to feel comfortable enough with you to comment on your post, ask questions, and their own advice.

Be Generous to Other Bloggers: If you think a blogger’s readership might benefit from an article you found, send it to the blogger. Or, ask the blogger if he or she would be interested in letting you guest post on their blog. Let the blogger know that you have an idea that his or her readers might be interested in. This allows the blogger to add a more engaging element to his or her blog.

Share Your Expertise: The phrase blogging for business sometimes translates to business owners as blogging for sales. This leads some businesses to store their knowledge in a titanium vault so that no one can access it but them. These stingy companies believe that they should be paid for their tidbits of knowledge and advice—but that’s not what a blog is for.

Obviously you don’t want to share your deepest secrets, but sharing your knowledge, advice, and suggestions helps you gain a higher position in the market and prove yourself to your target audience. We’re not telling you to reveal your equivalent of the KFC secret breading recipe; we’re simply suggesting that you share a little something that might help others in some way. They’ll be grateful to you and more willing to take advice from you in the future. You’ll find that, when you give a little, you get a lot.

My bimonthly ezine, Sumer’s Secrets is packed with tips on how to improve your web copy, promote your website, and market your brand. Sign up and receive a FREE report on creating web copy that will increase sales and site traffic.

There are many compelling reasons why Content Management System is a good foundation for a website. Blog Management is much easier when there’s a structured back-end to work on. Sites like blogs, forums and high traffic portals all need tools to manage content, update, backup and generally manage the web presence. This is what a CMS excels at. There are more than a few CMS’ on the market right now, WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, MODx and CMSMadeSimple to name a few. Add to that the hundreds of custom CMS available from web developers and the market gets a little crowded at times. The most popular by far are WordPress, Joomla and Drupal, which all offer different things, suitable for different uses.

WordPress
WordPress is a great tool for blogs and websites. It is built with ease of use in mind and can pretty much do anything you might want to with a website. If the WordPress software doesn’t do it for you, there is bound to be a widget or plugin that will. The number of plugins being built grows all the time. The best thing about WordPress is the availability of design templates. This is where the perfect mix of CMS and design come into play. The template structure is simple enough that many designers create for it, and powerful enough that many web users use it. There are some amazing designs both free and at a premium. To me, WordPress is the ideal balance between form and function.

Drupal
Drupal is the experienced designers option. It is a very powerful system if you already have some CMS and coding experience. The learning curve is much higher than WordPress and isn’t for the faint-hearted but the payoff is immense. In return for your investment you get a powerful, intuitive interface that can be the back-end of an infinite amount of sites. If you know how to code and design, the world is your oyster. Thematic support for Drupal is massive. For those who want to use the designs of others, or reverse engineer one to use, then you’re spoilt for choice. Building your own however, does take a lot of patience.

Joomla
Joomla seemingly came out of nowhere to take up the middle ground between WordPress and Drupal. While not as easy to get to grips with as WordPress, it is easier than Drupal. Theme support isn’t as good right now, but that’s changing steadily. Joomla isn’t as powerful as Drupal, but the modular construction is more powerful and logical than WordPress.

All three CMS have strong support from fans and developers alike. There is always someone to ask for problems, or somewhere to look for solutions. All three demonstrate to varying degrees that design doesn’t have to take a back seat when building websites with a CMS. If you’re looking for a CMS for your new blog you can’t go wrong with one of these. Then, when you need content, visit www.blogmanagement.net, we’ll take care of everything.

Want your own website or blog for your business without having to be at the mercy of a Webmaster? (With all due respect to those Webmasters out there!)

If so, there is no better choice than WordPress. In fact, I believe it is the best out there, and many others would agree.

There are actually two versions available: one at WordPress.org and one at WordPress.com. The main distinctions are that with WordPress.com you don’t have to download software, purchase hosting or manage a server. However, when you sign up for a WordPress.com blog, you will receive a URL like “mysite.WordPress.com” as opposed to “mysite.com” unless you map a domain—at an added cost. You also do not control the database or the software with the WordPress.com version. Because of these distinctions I always recommend the WordPress.org version, which is also known as the “self-hosted” version.

WordPress is a very powerful platform for several reasons. It has a huge community of developers behind it who are constantly creating new plugins and themes, which give WordPress lots of useful functionality. This community involvement has also led to an enormous amount of documentation, which is readily available to users. Additionally, its rapid development cycle means features are cutting edge and security and bug issues are quickly taken care of.

Add to that the fact that it’s super simple to use, it’s free and inherently search engine optimization friendly and you’ve got a fantastic way to begin building that all-important web presence for yourself.

WordPress is especially known for being a powerful blogging platform—and just a reminder about why blogging is great if you are in business–because solid, regular content is king! The more quality content you create on the web, the more you are seen as an expert in your particular niche and the more you improve your search engine rankings.

Not looking to blog? You can still use WordPress as a traditional website, and many people do. This is because it functions as a “content management system,” allowing you to set a static front page, add new pages easily, use it as a portfolio, gallery or e-commerce site and more. The best part? If you don’t want to wait for (or pay for!) a Webmaster to make changes and adjustments to your site, you don’t have to. WordPress makes it easy for anyone to administer his or her own site without needing heavy technical knowledge or coding ability. Definitely something worth celebrating!

So don’t wait any longer—check out WordPress today and begin enjoying your very own home on the web in just a few short hours.

Blogging 101-Blog Plugins for Newbies

We all know that to be a serious, effective online marketer, one needs to create and maintain a blog. Your blog is the epicenter of your marketing efforts and the internet “headquarters” for your online business. Hopefully by now you have created your blog and if you haven’t, please refer to an earlier post I made on this topic @ http://jeffwisuri.com/internet-network-marketing-business-success-plan-step-3.

Plugins are crucial to your blog. They enhance the overall viability of your blog and make it easier for you to automate certain tasks and ultimately create a powerful syndication engine for your blog posts. If you are a complete newbie, start by logging into your blog back office and look for “plugins” on the left hand side, then click on “add new.” Then type in the plugin name under the search tab and click on “search plugins.” The search will bring up all available plugins and all you have to do is click on “install.” Once it is installed click on “activate plugin” and viola, your plugin is now working hard to make your blog a friendlier place to work!

I’ve created a short video tutorial on installing a plugin:

Listed below are a few of the plugins I use on my blog to help automate and streamline my day to day blogging activities:

Akismet-This plugin is crucial! It keeps spam and unwanted comments out of your blog.

All in One SEO Pack-For more efficient Search Engine Optimization and quicker syndication of your blog posts. Allows you to type in the title, description and keywords for your content syndication.

diggZ-Et-This places a “diggit” button next to your posts so readers can digg your post and bookmark it on Digg.

TweetMeme Retweet Button-This places a “re-tweet” button next to your posts so readers can re-tweet and help syndicate your valuable content.

Odiogo Listen Button-With podcasts becoming ever more popular, this plugin places a “audio feed” button on your post so people can “listen” to your posts! Very powerful!

OnlyWire for WordPress-Great plugin for syndication. This places the “onlywire” bookmarking button on the bottom of each post so anyone can click on it and instantly bookmark your post to the top social bookmarking sites! Great for syndicating your content!

These plugins are just a few of the more crucial ones that should be on everyone’s blog. I hope this helps any of you newbies who are beginning the journey to blogging stardom!

An internet marketing blog is created to make money blogging and monetization techniques will be crucial in order to make this happen. But regardless of whether you intend to earn an income or have other reasons for creating a blog your site needs to be shout welcome to every blog reader or they will not return. Business blogs are no different than any other blogging site insofar as they rely upon returning traffic to thrive and grow.

Here are 5 tips you must NOT overlook when creating a blog to insure visitors feel welcomed and therefore inclined to return.

Make Commenting Easy

The single biggest attraction of blogging is the ability to interact with any blog reader. Make it as easy as possible for visitors both new and old to leave comments at your site. This will only help build a greater sense of ‘community’ which will then attract more visitors. You do want more visitors’ right?

Respond to Comments

Responding to comments when appropriate is essential and most especially if you are blogging to make money. Your failure to acknowledge questions or comments could translate into losing readers and income as well. Never overlook the value comments may hold since they contain feedback/input from your readers/customers.

Locate RSS Button above the Fold

Hopefully visitors will find your site interesting enough to bookmark or subscribe to via an RSS feed. Don not make them have to search your blog to find the subscribe button! Locate your subscribe button as prominently as possible and keep it above the fold of your page so scrolling down the page will not be necessary.

Create a Bio

If you expect people to gain an interest in your site you will need to supply them with a little information about yourself or your business. Most business blogs do well by supplying visitors with a little insight into their professional intentions along with a statement of their business mission as well.

On a personal bio a little information about yourself as it relates to the theme of the site and as to why you are blogging is sufficient.

Date and Credit Each Post

Extend to your readers the courtesy of letting them know who the author is of what post as well as to when the post was actually published. This gives people the opportunity follow a particular author and lets them know how old some information may be that they have viewed.

Even though an internet marketing blog is designed to make money blogging it still needs to present a warm and welcoming layout. Business blogs and personal blogging sites both rely upon returning traffic to survive. It is therefore critical that the site layout is inviting and easy to use. The 5 tips we reviewed above help create a positive experience for any blog reader either new or retuning to the site. Not hiding commonly sought after information and openly allowing new visitor participation in any discussions only encourages them to return. With their return and growing loyalty your ability to make money blogging strengthens and grows.

Furthermore, if you already have web hosting, very inconvenient time to upload a file to the server hosting if we do not know what the right way to do it. Any file which you upload? how to upload to the server hosting it? whether one of our file upload?

Much less effective to upload files one by one, the question if the files that we have there are thousands, how long we have to wait? here we will explain in brief how to upload to the server hosting the website in this case as an example wordpress application.

1. Creating a database via mySQL Database in Cpanel

If you have not created a database on the server, please make first. Create MySql database can be done in cPanel> MySQL Databases. There can be obtained from:

• name of the database, for example: ‘35_wordpress’
• Database Username, for example: ‘35_admin’
• Password database, for example: ‘bao’

2. Local computer database backups

Prepare wordpress database application that you have created while offline. Backup your database, if using phpMyAdmin, please access phpMyAdmin from the web browser (http://localhost/phpmyadmin)

Select the database you want to upload wordpress from the drop down menu “database”. Once the database is selected and displays the table-tablenya, click on the “export” and choose select all and check the box ‘Add Drop Table “Do not replace the others unless you know what you are doing. Check “Save as file” press the “go” at the bottom right of your browser. The browser will issue a confirmation to the local computer store.

3. Import database through phpmyadmin in cpanel

Once finished creating the database and the user (step 1) and export the database on your local computer (step 2). Please open the menu Select phpMyAdmin in cPanel database with the name (_wordpress) that you created earlier in the first step.

Once the database is selected, click on the “import” and browse the database backup file and “Go” to import. For details you can see in the article how to upload-mysql-database.

4. Upload file

Before you upload the wordpress files to the server via FTP, we recommend compresi in a Zip format file before all of the files and directories wordpress installation on your local computer. Use normal compression (default) for the zip files and directories wordpress.

Upload. Zip file using ftp / filezilla to speed the upload process and avoid kagalan upload. If you want to make a web application as the main wordpress please upload the wordpress zip file into the directory / public_html / wordpress so that applications can be accessed through http://yourdomain.com/.

After the upload is complete, log into your cPanel> File Manager, locate the file you uploaded (in a public_html directory), right click on the file and extract.

5. Setting file wp-config.php

Until step 4, if you try to access your Web site may be found a mistake / error messages. This is because the wp-config.php file from your local server does not contain information related to your hosting account details. Wp-config.php file stores information about the database name, userDB, and the password created on hosting accounts. You need to change the details in it as follows:

Go to cPanel> File Manager you. Find the file wp-config.php in the root directory of your wordpress. Right-click on the file and click ‘Edit Code’, change the line of code as the information we create in step 1.

When finished changing the configuration, press the Save Changes button.

6. Edit the MySQL Database Server Online

This last step is most important. We have to edit the database, which in this example is a database “cerita35_wordpress’” in order to connect with WordPress files us. We just need to change the URL, which in this example from ‘http://localhost/wordpress284/ be’ http://www.namaDomainAnda.com ‘.

If this step is not done then your site will not be displayed because the WordPress files to the database is like the two who had sedjoli can not be separated. The steps to edit the database:

Run phpMyAdmin in the Control Panel. Click the name of your database, in this instance “cerita35_wordpress’”. Select and click on the wp_options table. In the display that appears click [Browse]. On the table there are 2 things to edit:

a. Edit entry “siteurl” in column “option_name”. Click edit or pen for editing images. Replace ‘it with option_value’ http://www.namaDomainAnda.com (adjust with the path where the files wordpress directory and your domain name).

b. Edit entry “Home” on the same column. If you do not find it, click the arrow below the table. How to edit it the same as above siteurl entry.

7. Access your domain name through a browser. Finish.

A blog or is a website intended to share your opinions and thoughts by inviting others to comment and according to most of the write up’s on the internet blog is a short term for weblog, a frequently updated publication. Today, the powerful mainstream media to communicate with your readers and blog spirit is a free blogging platform offering with the best features available.

Blog composed of text and images which is sorted by date, hence the newest information is on the top and there is an archive of the old one. Individuals create blogs to share their thoughts with the world and a person writing in the journal is what we called “blogger”. As we all know that bloggers write about different topics: from the typical daily situations to the progress of some scientific researches and the readers also can leave comments and thus make the whole blog more interesting and useful.

Find out how to create a blog to express yourself. Actually website blogs are the most difficult kind of blogs to begin, and in order to do it, you have to find a target audience and write things that appeal to them, also by blogging about a particular topics, which makes blog fans favor rather than website that are topics, you will have a better chance to be found by search engines and get free search engine traffic.

Starting a blog site is really an easy task to do. Just create and manage your blog site using some of the Open Source blog tools that are available; you don’t need to know anything about web development to start blogging, all you need to do is open a hosting account where you can have a blog application installed and activated. Another easy way to create a blog is by using a ready-made blog tool. The blog application has built-in functionally such s posting articles, HTML editor, commenting, archive, and etc.

So, if you would be a better off to purchase a certain website and run your blog from there, you have a lot more options and can make more money and so, if you can build a large fan base of loyal readers with a free blogger you could probably create a big fan base off website blog.

Aside from that thing, you need to do is acquire the software that will allow users to submit comments on your posts. Comments are one of the most important parts of a blog, as they add the interaction not in blog format. Indeed, there are advantages of going through the trouble of building, hosting, and acquiring software to create a blog website and in having a website that gives you a larger name and adds credibility to you. There are many bloggers become millionaires because of website blog. Remember, once you’ve got your host and domain name, it’s usually a simple matter of going into your hosting control panel, selecting a thing and asking it to install WordPress for you.

Starting your own blog on the Internet is an exciting venture and teaches you many interesting things about the Internet. Once you have decided on the idea that you want to start your own blog you are faced with two of the most important questions. One, what software or blogging platform do I use and two, should I get my own web hosting account? Both of these services come in both free and paid versions and is outlined below.

Free Blogging Platforms

A free blogging platform in most cases also provides you with free hosting on their own site. The most popular free blogging platforms are Blogger and WordPress. In addition to the free service they also provide free templates and plugins for members to use. Given that everything is free, you should also be aware of the disadvantages that such blogging platforms can give you.

One of the main disadvantages is the control over your blog. You would not have the flexibility to have your blog under your own domain name (unless you pay for hosting with a separate company). This means your blog will always be a part of their domain. This would affect you if you are trying to build a name for yourself. In addition, these sites control the entire site including your blog and may choose to ban you unexpectedly or change their terms of use.

However as it is free, it would be a great place to start out if you are a complete newcomer and wanted to test out what it is like to blog. As your blog grows and you wish to expand, then it would be wise to consider a paid option.

Paid Blogging Platforms

Paid blogging platforms have some premium features over the free blogging platforms. Some of these features are: more designs and templates to use (this allows you blog to look more unique), give you unlimited number of blogs (if you want to diversify your blogging skills), premium customer support (for priority service and reliability), and flexibility to control the entire blog yourself and allow you to have extra authors for your blog.

Free Web Hosting

There are web hosting services that exist on the Internet that are free to use. As with anything that comes free there are restrictions. Some restrictions include limited bandwidth, limited web space, limited number of email accounts and limited support. In addition to these restricted features, some free web hosting services do not allow the usage of your own domain. This can be inconvenient for you if you want to use your own domain name or planning to brand your services in any way. Not only that, but most free web hosting services also place their ads on your website. These ads may cause you website to appear unprofessional and in some cases depending where they place the ads can be an inconvenience to the functionality of your website.

Paid Web Hosting

Paid web hosting services have plans that are usually charged on a per month basis. Packages can starts anywhere from $5/month. This price usually varies depending on the term of the contract. The longer you sig up for the less per month it would cost you. Most web hosting companies have plans to suit all needs. Basic plans in most cases are usually sufficient enough when you are first starting out with your blog.

Overall, there are many ways you can go about starting your own blog. Each option will depend on your budget and your expectations. If blogging is a hobby and you are starting out for fun then the free options give you a great starting point, where you can always upgrade later. If you are planning to be a serious blogger and making some money online then make sure you make you r blog more professional by opting for the paid service. The most popular combination for most people is to use a free blogging platform and pay for a reliable web hosting plan. This way you can host your blog on your own domain and develop some recognition and credibility.

For many blog success can be difficult to achieve due to varying reasons or circumstances. The blog building process itself is a long and winding road filled with many ups and downs. Many popular blogs you see on the internet today did NOT get that way overnight but instead slowly built a loyal reader base over a period of time. The fact of the matter is that of all the blogging sites you may find online today only a small percentage will be in existence a year from now. What is it that keeps so many of these sites from the dreams of success they originally started out with?

Here are 3 of the most common barriers that many blogging sites succumb to in their quest to establish themselves online.

Uninspired

As already mentioned above the blog building process can take quite a bit of time. Without gaining any type of ‘gratification’ over a period of time many tend to lose their enthusiasm or the inspiration they felt when they first started. This results in a decrease in the quality of their post which then leads to a decrease in their readership.

Unmotivated

Once a bloggers inspiration begins to decline due to their slow progress so does the motivation necessary to ‘adequately’ maintain the site itself. Now not only are post lacking quality but they are also becoming more infrequent as well.

As difficult as it made be to build a steady flow of returning traffic it is much easier to lose whatever readers you may already have.

Unappreciated

With little or no sign of gratification the owners of many blogging sites understandably will then begin to feel unappreciated. At this point the feeling of ‘what is the sense’ starts to sink in and this demoralizing feeling is tough to shake. Now the blogger is on the verge of simply giving up and likely will if the lack of gratification continues. This is a bad but also natural ‘emotional’ cycle many fall into when trying to establish a blog.

Achieving blog success online is something to be proud of due to the fact that it is a feat not easily accomplished. The blog building process is a long and challenging one that can and will test the resolve of even the most motivated amongst us. Even the most popular blogs you can find online had to pay their dues in patience, effort and time before they established themselves. Although circumstances vary from one blogger to the next the 3 barriers we discussed here today commonly faced by every blogger at one time or the other. Ultimately it is the motivation and perseverance of the individual that determines the degree of success they will achieve. Blog building is not a short sprint but rather a long distance run. If you possess the endurance to continue on you will likely be one of the minority who cross the finish line.
